A bright eyed, slim and smart, she is the first woman in the city to work at the petrol pump! With a warm and welcoming smile on her pretty face, she performs her job with zeal and enthusiasm. One after another vehicles stop in front of her …… “ kitna dalna hai”? She asks very confidently and then……on goes the pump meter. Her eyes reverted on the meter, she is quick and careful enough to stop it as soon as it reaches the right figure. Simple though it may seem, the job needs both strength and courage especially for a woman; strength for it is a continuous and tiring job without any rest, except for a short lunch break and courage because she is working in an exclusively male dominated domain! I t was her husband who encouraged her to take up the job, after reading an advertisement in a local daily for a woman petrol pump worker. Even during those days when Joycee was disappointed, he motivated her to continue. “Ignore them and continue your work”, was his gentle advice. Joycee remembers these encouraging words of her husband, to whom she owes a lot of her success. A1. When the owner of the camel saw it, he understood the matter at once. He got a blanket and wrapped it around the neck of the camel and hit it hard with a wooden mallet. The melon broke and the camel swallowed it easily. A man who came late there saw this half process. He thought it was a treatment for a goiter. In the next village, he pretended to be a doctor who could cure goiters. The villagers brought an elderly woman to him for treatment. The man asked for a blanket and a mallet, just like he had seen before. He wrapped the blanket around the woman's neck and hit her hard with the mallet, thinking it would help her. Unfortunately with that forceful blow, the woman passed away instantly. The villagers caught the quack doctor and handed over the police. Finally he was sent to prison for his little knowledge. Listening to the advice of someone who is less educated can lead to wrong choices in life. The third -3 years means std. 6, 7 & 8 where students will learn computer coding and designing mobile applications. Now listen friends, I am giving you information about our age group. That is about the last 4 years in which std. 9, 10, 11 & 12 will be included. Now there will be no streams like art, commerce and science. Any student can take any subject. Exams will be in two semesters (सत्र; छमाही). The first half course will be in first semester and after 6 months second semester on the remaining course. Which is very beneficial for the students, they would not have to study the whole syllabus. The examinations will be objective and descriptive.
