Chandrayaan-3 -Why south pole?
Chandrayaan-3 landed on Moon Congratulations, India🇮🇳! Why South Pole Several missions from different countries including India, Russia, Japan and Israel have attempted to land near the lunar south pole but failed. The importance of the lunar south pole is that it holds promise for the establishment of future human bases. While the region has been shielded from orbit by various orbital missions, including Chandrayaan-2, which remains in lunar orbit, none have been able to land to conduct on-site experiments and studies of the lunar environment at and around the lunar South Pole. The region is believed to have abundant water ice and mineral resources capable of sustaining human livelihoods in the future. Vikram will use his rover Pragyaan to conduct field studies. Somanath said Pragyaan will be deployed from the lander in the “next few hours or even a day to study surface conditions. It will operate on the lunar surface for 14 Earth days and collect valuable scientific data” that will be sent to the Deep Space Network centre at Byalalu near Bengaluru for analysis. The lander’s mission is scheduled for 14 days (one lunar day), during which the lander’s three payloads and the rover’s two payloads will be active to study the lunar environment. In explaining the various components that will be used in the lunar mission, he said they were all developed in country. He added that the lander is equipped with some instruments provided by some countries to conduct tests on the lunar surface. Beginning of the multiple exploration of space ISRO chief Somanath said the success of Chandrayaan-3 means a lot to ISRO and marks the beginning of several space explorations, starting with "Aditya L1" to study the sun's corona early next month. ISRO plans to explore Mars, Venus and other planets and asteroids, he added 5-watt signal amplifier Chandrayaan-3 is the result of teamwork involving several scientists, technicians and entrepreneurs, among others, to make the project a success. ISRO Deputy Director Dr. B. H. M. Darukesha and his team had developed a 5-watt signal amplifier for communication, which is an important part of the Chandrayaan-3 lander and rover, — when no other country came forward to provide it to India, as amplifiers are mainly used by the military. Rover desi cameras The Pragyaan rover has two cameras that could be its eyes compared to the expensive cameras used by foreign space agencies. The rover's software was developed by a Noida-based startup, Omnipresent Robot Technologies. Images taken by the rover would create a 3-D map of the lunar landscape. It also has a spectrometer to determine the chemical composition of the surface. Nationwide posts on Chandrayaan-3 On the day India celebrated the successful mission of Chandrayaan 3, Hyderabad-based Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) took a silent bow for its contribution in the form of world-class strategic materials that strengthen India’s defence, space, energy and allied industries. The company’s contribution to the Chandrayaan-3 mission is one of many key roles it has played in India’s scientific and technological advancements. After the historic moon landing of Chandrayaan-3, ISRO is gearing up for more challenging missions
Chandrayaan-3 landed on Moon Congratulations, India🇮🇳! After the historic moon landing of Chandrayaan-3, ISRO is gearing up for more challenging missions. After the resounding success of Chandrayaan-3, India's third lunar mission, with its triumphant landing on the Moon's south pole, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is gearing up for a series of other complicated missions in the near future. Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Minister of State for Science and Technology, recently told the lower house of Parliament that ISRO has ambitious plans for five more science missions by 2025. Topping the list is Aditya-L1, a solar mission budgeted at 3.7 billion rupees to launch in the first quarter of 2023. Alongside it, Chandrayaan-3, costing 2.5 billion rupees, has already been successfully launched in the same quarter. Following closely behind is XPoSAT, a 0.60 billion rupee mission scheduled for launch in the second quarter of 2023. Also on ISRO's agenda is a space docking experiment, estimated to cost 1.24 billion rupees and scheduled for launch in the third quarter of 2024. The highly anticipated Gaganyaan mission, estimated to cost 90.23 billion rupees, is scheduled for launch in the fourth quarter of 2024. ISRO, which has successfully completed 124 space missions and launched 93 of them, is ready to launch a number of missions as part of its strategic planning starting in 2021. Among them are 15 student satellites and 431 foreign satellites with which ISRO intends to demonstrate its global presence. Congratulations, India🇮🇳!#Chandrayaan_3#Ch3 — ISRO (@isro) August 23, 2023 India's Chandrayaan-3 conquers the moon India's Chandrayaan-3 space mission landed on the moon's south pole at 6:04 p.m. Wednesday, taking India's space efforts a major step forward. The achievement elevates India to a prestigious group of four nations and solidifies its position as a pioneer in successfully landing on the unexplored lunar terrain. This makes India the fourth country after the United States, China and the former Soviet Union to master the intricacies of soft lunar landing. Most importantly, no country has yet succeeded in landing on the difficult South Pole, where vital reserves of frozen water and precious elements are believed to be located. The recent instability that led to the crash of the Russian Luna-25, destined for the moon's south pole, underscores the difficulty of this endeavour. Within four years, Chandrayaan-3 gently deposited its four-legged lander Vikram with the 26-kg rover Pragyan on the moon's southern polar region at 6:04 p.m. during its second lunar flight. ISRO scientists mastered the nerve-racking "20 minutes of terror" during the critical descent, which began at 5:44 p.m. After the successful landing, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) quickly established a communications link between the lander and ISRO's Mission Operations Complex (MOX) in Bengaluru. Following this success, ISRO released images captured by the Lander Horizontal Velocity Camera (LHVC) during its descent to the lunar surface. Amid the celebrations at MOX, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who watched the culmination of this space odyssey from South Africa, praised the scientists for their tireless efforts. He emphasized that India's triumph in lunar exploration is a step forward not only for the nation but for the entire world A look at the next ISRO missions इस्रो च्या भविष्यातील मोहिमा 1] RISAT-1A: A radar imaging satellite for terrain mapping and land, sea, and water surface analysis. Gaganyaan-1: India's manned orbiting spacecraft and cornerstone of India's human spaceflight programme, scheduled for launch in 2024. Aditya-L1: India's first solar mission to explore the solar corona with a solar coronagraph and X-ray spectroscopic instruments. Gaganyaan-2: An unmanned spacecraft that serves as a precursor to the first manned mission. NISAR: The joint NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar project for remote sensing with a dual-frequency synthetic aperture radar satellite. Congratulations, India🇮🇳!#Chandrayaan_3#Ch3 — ISRO (@isro) August 23, 2023 "Chandrayaan-3 Mission: 'India, I reached my destination and you too!' Chandrayaan-3 has successfully soft-landed on the moon! Congratulations, India!," it said in a post. In a major step for India's space programme, India’s Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission landed on the moon's south pole at 6:04 p.m. Wednesday. With this, India has joined an exclusive club of four countries and is the first country to land on the uncharted surface. India made history when ISRO's ambitious third lunar mission landed on the lunar surface. The LM, consisting of the lander (Vikram) and the 26-kg rover (Pragyan), landed near the moon's south pole at 6:04 p.m., less than a week after a similar Russian lander crashed, giving India's space prowess a major boost.
