Independence Day –

We celebrate India’s Independence Day every year on 15th August because on this day our country got freedom from British rule, we celebrate 15th August as our Independence Day. For this, the tricolor is hoisted all over the country. From home to social media, it is becoming colorful.

Republic Day –

26 January i.e. Republic Day is the day we celebrate as the Constitution of India came into force in our country. We celebrate Republic Day to commemorate the coming into force of the Constitution of India on 26 January 1950. After all, on 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution and it came into force from 26 January 1950. An important reason behind the selection of 26th January as the date of Republic Day is that on this day i.e. 26th January 1930, the Indian National Congress announced the independence of India. Hence both the date of promulgation of the Constitution and the Declaration of Indian Independence refer to this date.

Ways to celebrate Independence Day and Republic Day –
There are differences in the method and place of flag hoisting on both 15th August and 26th January. It is as follows

– The Prime Minister hoists the flag on 15th August i.e. Independence Day.
– The President hoists the flag on 26 January i.e. Republic Day. Because when the country became independent on August 15, the post of President did not exist.
– On Independence Day, the tricolor is hoisted on a rope in an open position, it is called flag hoisting. On January 26, the tricolor is folded closed and the rope is tied and the flag is raised in advance, then the flag is hoisted by just pulling the rope. That is called hoisting the flag.
– On August 15, 1947, the British flag came down and the Indian flag went up. Hence it is called flagging. So on 26th January 1950, as soon as the flag of India came into being, but even after the independence, till the existence of its own constitution, the rule was governed by the British law for two and a half years, so the flag is tied and taken up in a closed fold and then it is hoisted.
– On August 15, flag hoisting takes place at Red Fort.
– On January 26, the flag is hoisted on the Rajpath in front of the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
