Heat Stroke
उष्माघात: कारणे, लक्षणे, उपाययोजना आणि प्रथमोपचार उष्माघात म्हणजेच हीट स्ट्रोक किंवा सनस्ट्रोक. ही जीवघेणी अवस्था आहे. यात प्रखर तापमानात काम केल्याने शारिरातील उष्णता संतूलन संस्था नाकाम होते. सतत कडक उन्हात काम केल्यानंतर, बाहेरचे तापमान प्रमाणाबाहेर वाढले की शरीरातील तापमान नियंत्रित करण्याची यंत्रणा कोलमडते आणि उष्मापात होतो आणि त्यातून होणारी तीव्र समस्या म्हणजेच उष्माघात होय. शरीराने मर्यादेपेक्षा जास्त उष्णता शोषून घेतली तर हायपरथर्मिया म्हणजेच अतिउच्च तापमानाचा आजार म्हणजे उष्माघात होतो. उष्माघात म्हणजेच हीट स्ट्रोक किंवा सनस्ट्रोक जी जीवघेणी ठरू शकते. यात प्रखर तापमानाला सामोरे गेल्याने शारिरातील उष्णता संतूलन संस्था नाकाम होते. वातावरणातील जास्त तापमान किंवा खूप वेळ उन्हामध्ये खूप शारीरिक कष्ट असलेले काम करणे आणि पाणी, क्षार किंवा इतर तरल पदार्थ कमी प्रमाणात सेवन केल्याने ही परिस्थिति निर्माण होते. यातली मुख्य रोगप्रक्रिया म्हणजे अतिउष्णतेने शरीरातल्या प्रथिनांवर दुष्परिणाम होणे व पेशींमधली जीवनप्रक्रिया थांबणे. शरीरातल्या सर्व अवयवातील पेशींमध्ये हा परिणाम होतो. यात मृत्यूचे कारण बहुधा 'मेंदूसूज' म्हणजेच एनसेफलोपथी हे असते. यामध्ये शरीराचे तापमान अकस्मात उच्च पातळीवर जाते. योग्य ते उपचार वेळेवर न मिळाल्यास संबंधित व्यक्तीच्या मेंदूच्या उतींना नुकसान पोहोचून व्यक्ती कोमात जाण्याची व दगावण्याची शक्यता असते. जास्त तापमानामुळे शरीरातील महत्त्वाचे अवयव निकामी होतात. उष्माघात हा प्रामुख्याने अर्भकं, लहान मुलं, वयोवृद्ध, पाणी कमी पिणारे लोक, दीर्घ आजारी किंवा मद्यप्राशन करणाऱ्यांमध्ये आढळतो. तसेच हृदयरोग, फुप्फुसांचे आजार, मूत्रपिंडाचे आजार, लठ्ठपणा उच्च रक्तदाब, मधुमेह, मानसिक व्याधीसारख्या आजारांनी त्रस्त व्यक्तींनाही सहज उष्माघात होऊ शकतो. खेळाडूना आणि बराच वेळ आउटडोअर काम करणाऱ्यांना उष्मापात होऊ शकतो. उष्मपाताची लक्षणे: उष्मपाताची बरीच लक्षणे सांगता येतील जसे घाम फुटणे, मळमळ, उलट्या होणे, चक्कर येणे, डोकेदुखी, थकवा येणे आणि स्नायूंना आकडी येणे इ .. म्हणजे प्रमाणाबाहेर वाढलेले शारीरिक तापमान (१०४ डिग्री पेक्षा जास्त). घाम बाहेर पडत नाही त्यामुळे त्वचा गरम आणि कोरडी होते. घाम येण्याचे थांबते, नाडीची आणि श्वासाची गती वाढलेली असते, रक्तदाब सुरुवातीला वाढतो आणि नंतर कमी होतो, शरीरात ताठरता येते, हात आणि पायात आकडी (क्रांप्स) येतात, मानसिक बदल होतो, चिडचिड होते, भ्रम होतो आणि कोमा म्हणजेच बेशुद्धवस्था येते आणि मृत्यू सुद्धा ओढवू शकतो. हे असे क्रमाक्रमाने होते, बेशुद्धवस्था हा वयस्कांमध्ये उष्माघातचा पहिला संकेत असू शकतो. उन्हापासून घ्यायची काळजी: उष्माघाताचा त्रास टाळण्यासाठी थोडी काळजी घेणे आवश्यक आहे. सकाळी १० ते दुपारी ४ वाजेपर्यंत उन्हाची तीव्रता जास्त असते तेव्हा शक्यतोवर उन्हात फिरणे, काम करणे किंवा खेळणे टाळावे. बाहेर जाणे आवश्यक असल्यास काही गोष्टी पाळल्यास उन्हाचा त्रास कमी होऊ शकतो. शक्य असल्यास दुपारच्या वेळी कामासाठी बाहेर पडू नका. सकाळी किंवा संध्याकाळी उशिरा कामांची विभागणी करा. अगदीच आवश्यक असेल सौम्यरंगांचे आणि ढिले कपडे वापरावे. टाइट जीन्स आणि भडक कपडे वापरणे टाळावे. टोपी, कानाला आणि डोक्याला रुमाल किंवा स्कार्फ बांधवा, छत्रीचा वापर करावा. जवळ पाण्याची बाटली ठेवावी. गरजेप्रमाणे मधून मधून पाणी प्यावे. तापमानवाढीबरोबरच पाणी पिण्याचे प्रमाण वाढवावे. तहान लागण्याची वाट न पाहता दररोज ८ ते १० ग्लासपेक्षा जास्त पाणी प्यावे. तसेच नारळपाणी, ताज्या फळांचा रस, ताक, लस्सी, कांजी, लिंबूपाणी, तसेच ओआरएस भुकटी पाण्यात टाकून घेत राहावी. साखरेचे वा अल्कोहोलचे प्रमाण जास्त असलेली पेये घेऊ नयेत. त्यामुळे शरीरातील पाण्याचं प्रमाण कमी होते. तसंच बाहेरील थंड पेय घेणं टाळावे. आहारमध्ये काकडी, संत्री, कलिंगड आणि लिंबू, कांदा यांचा भरपूर वापर करावा. प्रथमोपचार: शरीरातली जास्त झालेली उष्णता लवकरात लवकर बाहेर काढणे व रक्ताभिसरण खेळते ठेवणे हाच प्रथमोपचार आहे. सर्वप्रथम व्यक्तीला शक्य असल्यास वातानुकूलित जागेत अन्यथा सावलीत वा थंड ठिकाणी हलवावे आणि शरीरावरील जास्तीचे कपडे काढून टाकावेत. त्यामुळे शरीरातील उष्ण तापमान कमी होण्यास मदत होते. शरीराला ओल्या कापडाने पुसून काढावे. त्याच्या आजूबाजूला हवा खेळती ठेवावी. बर्फ उपलब्ध असल्यास व्यक्तीच्या मानेवर, पाठीवर, काखेत आणि मांडीच्या सांध्यात बर्फाचा शेक देण्यास सुरुवात करावी. कारण या जागी रक्तप्रवाह संचय हा त्वचेच्या जवळच असतो व थंडाव्यामुळे शरीराचे उष्णतामान कमी व्हायला मदत होते. Central Vista ‘New Parliament Building’ ‘New Parliament Building’ has been built over 64,500 sq m, it is located a stone's throw from Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official residence of the President of India. Design and structure: ‘New Parliament Building’ is a four-storey building in a triangular shape and its interiors have three national symbols - the lotus, the peacock and the banyan tree - as its themes. Estimated cost of :the parliament building alone is 971 crore. The building was expected to be ready before India's 75th Independence Day (in 2022). However, construction cannot yet begin as a legal challenge is pending in the Supreme Court. Central Vista Delhi’s central vista, home to the grand complex of government buildings, is one of the most recognisable sites in India. The long and grassy avenue sweeps down from the India Gate war memorial to the Rashtrapati Bhavan, or president’s residence, with the circular Parliament House building in between. It was designed by British architects Lutyens and Herbert Baker following the 1911 decision to move the capital of the British Raj from Calcutta to Delhi. The geometric design, with wide avenues and sprawling lawns, was modelled on European capitals such as Paris but was also infused with Indian influences from the architecture of Hindu temples to the red-stoned grandeur of Mughal forts. The vista remains the only area in India designated grade 1 heritage status. Important features of the building The national emblem will crown the new parliament, the ceiling of which will have fresco paintings (similar to those in Rashtrapati Bhawan) and carpets with traditional designs. Interior walls will have shlokas inscribed - to retain some of the characteristics of the existing parliament. Dholpur stone will be the primary construction material (as it was with the current building) and red granite may replace red sandstone in some interior sections. Special care will be taken during construction to ensure minimal disturbance and environmental safeguards. Seating capacity: The new Parliament House will have a seating arrangement of 888 members in the Lok Sabha. At present, India has 543 Lok Sabha seats. Similarly, 384 members will be able to sit in the Rajya Sabha of the new Parliament House, which currently has 245 seats. When a joint meeting of the two houses is convened at the new Parliament House, the hall earmarked for it will have a seating arrangement of 1,272 members. At present, the joint meeting of the two Houses is held at the Centre Hall with only 430 seats. The new Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha halls will have increased seating capacities (888 and 384 seats, respectively) in anticipation of an expanded Parliament; a 25-year-old freeze on increasing state-wise distribution of seats ends in 2026. Atmanirbhar Parliament: The new Parliament building will be an intrinsic part of the vision of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' as artisans and sculptors from all over the country would contribute to and showcase India's cultural diversity in the new building. Earthquake safety: The new Parliament building will also be able to withstand earthquakes. The current Parliament building The present Parliament House was inaugurated on January 18, 1927. Its architectural work was entrusted to Sir Herbert Baker. The giant circular building with its 144 sandstone columns was designed by Sir Edward Lutyens, who also designed the heart of Delhi – from the seat of the government in the North Block to the iconic Connaught Place. Sir Herbert Baker wanted the Parliament House to be triangle-shaped. A central hall should be built in between. But then British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens opposed it. He had suggested shaping it round in his proposal. Ignoring Herbert Baker's suggestion, the British had accepted Edwin Lutyens' proposal. The existing Parliament building will be conserved as an archaeological asset of the nation. Bombay High Court Upholds 75% Marks Criteria for IIT-NIT Eligibility Bombay High Court Upholds 75% Marks Criteria for IIT-NIT Eligibility JEE Main 2023 Bombay High Court Verdict: The Bombay High Court has dismissed a petition filed by the Board seeking relaxation in the pass percentage while upholding the requirement of 75 percent marks for admission to IITs and NITs. With the announcement of the results of JEE Main 2023, the country's largest engineering entrance exam, lakhs of students are looking for information on the NITs and IIITs they are eligible for based on their scores. On Wednesday, May 3, the Bombay High Court dismissed a petition seeking relaxation in the pass percentage and upheld the requirement of 75 percent marks for admission to IITs and NITs, affecting lakhs of students who do not meet the criteria. Meanwhile, thousands of students who did not score as expected are exploring other admission options. Many students start applying to other engineering institutes, as the admission process is still open in many major engineering institutes in the country, including BITS Pilani, Manipal, Mangaluru, PES Bengaluru, KIIT Kalinga, SRM Chennai, MIT Pune, UPES Dehradun, NIIMS Mumbai, Shiv Nadar Noida, Bennett Noida, BBP Pune, and LPU Punjab. Admission to these institutes is through their own entrance exams, and board eligibility is not required. Additionally, students who have a low All India Rank in JEE Main can apply to State Engineering Colleges through the 15% other state quota based on their JEE Main scores. These states include Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Odisha, and West Bengal. Now The National Testing Agency will apply the eligibility criterion for students who will get a minimum of 75 per cent marks in their board exams will get admission to engineering colleges even after qualifying in the JEE Mains entrance test. This rule was revoked during the Covid era. The eligibility criteria to appear in JEE Main 2023 will remain the same as last year, whereas the criteria for admission into IIITs, NITs and GFTIs have been renewed. “Admission to B.E. / B.Tech / B.Arch / B.Planning. Courses in NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs participating through Central Seat Allocation Board will be based on All India Rank subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the Class 12 examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in Class 12/qualifying examination. The candidate is also required to pass in each of the subjects of Class 12 / qualifying examination,” reads the official statement. The 75 per cent mark criteria were revoked in 2020 as a measure to relax norms for admission at centrally-funded institutions amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic which resulted in the closure of schools, and colleges and disrupted almost all education-related activities across the country.
