Strong and ready hands turned him about and conveyed him in silence and haste to the side-walk averted the ignoble fate of the menaced mallard. Soapy turned off Broadway. It seemed that his route to the coveted Island was not to be an easy one. Some other way of entering the limbo must be devised. A2. (b) MIND MAPPING- 3 Marks Read the following extract and complete the Mind Mapping design with appropriate answers. Sudha Murthy was born on 19 August, 1950; in Shiggaon in Karnataka. She and her siblings were raised by her parents and maternal grandparents. She completes B.E. in Electrical Engineering from B.V.B. College of Engineering and Technology, standing first in her class and receiving a gold medal from the Chief Minister of Karnataka. She completed M.E. in Computer Science from the Indian institute of science, standing first in her class and receiving a gold medal from the Indian institute of Engineers. Sudha Murthy became the first female engineer hired at India‟s largest auto manufacturer TATA Engineering and Locomotive Company ( TELCO) as a Development Engineer. She later joined Walch and Group of Industries at Pune as a Senior System Analyst. In 1996, she started Infosys Foundation and has been a Visiting Professor at the P.G. centre of Banglore University. Social Activity: In 1996, Sudha Murty founded a Public Charitable Trust. The trust has so far built 2,300 houses in the flood-affected areas. She also has a vision of a library for each school and has so far set up 70,000 libraries. Her organization has so far built 16,000 public toilets. Sudha Murty has so far published many books, mainly through Penguin.
