Sony Pulls Concord from Sale

Sony has pulled its online shooter *Concord* from sale just two weeks after its release on August 23rd.

The game will be taken offline on September 6th, according to a blog post by Ryan Ellis, game director at Firewalk Studios.

Players who purchased the £40 game will receive a full refund as the team reassesses the game's future.

Concord* is a hero shooter, similar to popular titles like *Overwatch* and *Valorant*, featuring team-based gameplay with characters that have distinct abilities.

The game was reportedly in development for eight years, aiming to capture the multiplayer market for Sony.

Concord* received mixed reviews, with critics praising its graphics but criticizing its lack of innovation in the genre.

The game struggled to attract players, with its peak concurrent users on PC reaching only 660, according to SteamDB.

By contrast, *Counter-Strike 2*, one of the most-played games, has consistently recorded over 1 million players since August 2022.

Ryan Ellis stated that the team has been closely listening to feedback and recognized that some aspects of the game did not meet player expectations.

Taking the game offline will allow Firewalk Studios to explore new options to better reach players, with potential updates or re-releases in the future.
